Eurowings offers to foreign students a Training Program for Private Pilot License (PPL(A) which can form part of their GAP Year activities.

This program combines a visit to Greece and its rich cultural and natural treasures with the remarkable experience of learning to fly an aeroplane.It 

includes theoretical and flight training in accordance with European (EASA) regulations.

Theoretical training involves self study and classroom instruction in nine theory subjects. Using Eurowings e-Learning platform integrating rich training content in English, students initially study at their home countries at their own pace and after assessment of their performance they travel to Greece to attend 25 hours of classroom instruction in the form of  workshop organised by Eurowings and sit theory examinations organised by Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) every calendar month.

Flight Training is realised at Messologhi Airfield, an uncontrolled aerodrome in Western Greece which allows intensified training but also short distance flights to other national and international airports in nearby islands and the mainland. Training aircraft include Eurowings owned four seater Cessna 172 with 180 HP engine and full avionics as well as other other trainers. 

Program participants, while being trained as pilots, can also enjoy tours to ancient monuments and visits of Greek islands and other sightseeings during their stay in Greece  to acquire valuable cultural and social experiences . Student long term visa, allowing travelling to other European countries and student shared accommodation throughout their training period are included in Eurowings services.

Graduates of this Program can fly light aeroplanes for business or pleasure or continue their training to acquire a commercial pilot license and ratings. In the second case, Eurowings offers additional programs for Night Rating and Time Building at competitive rates.

Training Program cost is 10.000,00 EUR including taxes and covers Theoretical & Flight instruction (29 hrs with Flight Instructor (DUAL) and 16 hrs Supervised SOLO flights) and shared student accommodation for up to 3 calendar months.Additional costs required throughout the training amount to approximately 1.200,00 EUR and relate to various services and products including student medical examination, ICAO English language test, HCAA license issuing fee, headphones, charts/maps, etc.
